Menu Plan Monday

What's for dinner this week?

Monday - Sheperd's Pie (inspired by this blog) I make it with ground turkey since beef is not my friend.

Tuesday -Salt & Pepper Salmon (Sam's favorite)

Wednesday - Mexican Casserole (almost the same as this one!)

Thursday - Beef Stew (The kids and I are going to dinner and a high school football game with friends, so this will be for Mike.)

Friday - Remember that Beef Stew from Thursday? It's showing up again!! Maybe I'll buy Mike his favorite Sushi.

Tick Tock

This very fun

clock sits in the hallway

outside the Orthopedic

Specialist we sometimes

visit. It's very fun to watch

on the quarter hour. The

metal balls go through all

sorts of mazes and a few

whirl-i-gigs before the

clock tolls the time.

Survivor

Survivor: China premieres next Thursday. So as I'm driving around town I think to myself:

I wonder how well they'll survive if they're made to play with lead tainted toys?

Life is Good

On Tuesday, I "used" my birthday present.
I received a gift certificate to the Spa

I chose the Hot Stone Therapy Massage.

I have never experienced anything like it.
It was relaxing and peaceful.

I smiled all day. There was just no stopping it!

My surroundings were opulent.
It was all I could do not to walk around
saying, "Oooohhh!" to everything.

I knew it was coming...

It's official.
We are now seven days into the new school year
AND
I'm bored.

I have an agreement with my children. Whenever I hear,
"I'm bored" they have to clean something.

Beds made - check
Laundry done - check
Vacuuming done - check
Toilet clean - check
Nothing says, "I love you" like a clean toilet, especially during cold and flu season!
Sinks shiny - check

Flylady would be proud!

I knew there would be something.

I see dust!

And the CDs need to be alphabetized again.

Oregon inspired dinner

For his birthday, Mike received this book
and several bottles of lovely Oregon wine.
Big shout out to Dean & Louise without whom
this day would not have been possible!

Tonight for dinner he made this FABULOUS
Filet Mignon with Merlot & Mushrooms

For dessert we had Bittersweet Mocha Mousse.
Dear God in Heaven, I don't think I've ever been happier!

We finished the evening with Karen beating
Mike and Sam at Scrabble.
Mike and Karen play every couple of weeks or so,
but with Sam in the mix it was quite a challenge.
Three letter words tend to choke the board.
