I think the boys would be proud. Not because I'm a Bad@$$, but because I actually bothered to TAKE A QUIZ about Zombies.

Opening Day

Ana is on the far right of the photo.
Women's Soccer is a winter sport.
I can hardly wait for next year when it is a fall sport.
It is currently 54 degrees.
That makes for very cold tushies on metal bleachers.

She was very happy after the game.
She played very well.
It was her first game of 11 on 11 on a full size field.

We were rewarded with a happy teenager...

and a beautiful sunset.
Never mind the pole in the middle.
I don't own PhotoShop.

Stay Tuned

Ana's first high school soccer game is this afternoon.
The post will be late...but it will arrive prior to midnight.
So I can keep my NaBloPoMo word.

Bah Humbug

I've been trying for hours to find pictures of Christmas tree from different parts of the world.

It's been like the rest of my "holiday season" experience.

Not going well.

At this point, I give up and share the only photos I was able to find.

Let's start close to home at the Capitol Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C.

I found a photo of a tree in Red Square.

And this cute little Christmas tree from Sweden.

I LOVE that there are real candles amongst the branches.

After my tirade above, I must have been inspired.
This tree is in Queensland, Australia.

Found one in Singapore, too.Should have guessed I could find one at the Vatican!

And my personal favorite...Raffles City Shopping Center in Singapore.

Vacation

I've taken some really nice vacations in my life.

I've cruised the Caribbean (more than once) and the Mexican Riviera.

I've spent time in Bermuda.

Travelled to France. Strasbourg was lovely.

I've been as far as Russia to see St. Basil's Cathedral.

I've been to Maui twice.

I'm ready for the next trip.

Call me crazy, but I'd like to go jet boating in New Zealand.

I've long wanted to go on Safari in Botswana, but only if I get to stay in a lodge like this.

Even something as simple and lovely at the Smoky Mountains looks pleasant.

I've wanted to see Angkor Wat since Matt Lauer went there on The Today Show.

Mike applied for a job in Bar Harbor, Maine. Beautiful...but cold.

Lake Lucerne, Switzerland. I'd expect to see nuns singing in the hills (even though she was in Austria.)

It's cloudy today. Maybe that explains my sudden wanderlust.

I'm finding posting every day to be tedious. I'm just not that interesting. I'm looking forward to December when I can post whenever something strikes me as "post-worthy."

Through the eyes of Sam

I asked Sam to be in charge of the camera on Thanksgiving. Whenever I ask to see something through the "eyes of Sam", I am NEVER disappointed. He has the most unique perspective on life I've ever encountered.

At some point during the day, I asked him to take the garbage out to the garage.

This is what he saw.

The following two pictures are what I consider to be his best work of the day.

Let's go Shopping Again

This time in fantasy land...

Let's start with another decanter.
I tell you...something is MISSING
since I have to drink my red wine
without proper aeration.

If I had a laptop, I could blog anywhere!

I'd like a smaller camera. I like the Canon I have now but this one is smaller and would fit easily in my purse so I could take pictures ALL THE TIME!

A Ferrari sweatshirt... I never would have
thought of this on my own but I saw it at the Wynn.

I own this necklace.
I think I need the matching bracelet.

I have a robe, but not one made of cashmere.

A pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans would be great.
At $246, I guess I'll stick with Levi's.

A Tag Heuer watch. Pretty, functional.

Who pays $2200 for a watch?
No one who's likely to give me a gift!

If I'm going to have the watch, I need an approprite hand bag.
This one will do nicely!

A Poem

We are the seeds of the tenacious plant.
And it is in our ripeness and fullness of heart,
That we are given to the wind,
And are scattered.
Curtis Schroff

This poem was written by a friend of my sister when she was in high school.
I memorized the poem after his death at FAR too young an age.
He was just a teenager.
I found the poem meaningful and inspiring then...

And I still do to this day.

Catalog

The catalogs are still coming on a daily basis.
I'm no longer browsing.
They go straight to recycle.

Monday's offerings:
Anthropologie
Chico's
Doctors Foster and Smith
Harry & David
Hickory Farms
The Orchards of Hickory Farms
The Sharper Image
Victoria's Secret
Zingerman's

Tuesday's offerings:
Fairytale Brownies
Home Bistro
Tiffany & Co.
Wolferman's

Wednesday's offerings:
Coldwater Creek

A slow catalog day. We must be mostly done. No mail tomorrow. Just turkey!

Last Night...

...I didn't ride my stationary bike.

BUT...

I did sit in my spa.
By myself.
With a glass of wine.
Under a moonlit sky.
Gazing at the stars.

I didn't improve my cardiovascular fitness.

But I did great things for my psyche.

I'm a very content woman.

And, I'm happy.

Cougars

This week Ana made the Coronado Cougars Junior Varsity soccer team.
She has been named a co-captain.
I think that's pretty impressive for a freshman.

In case you care...

Recently, my car windshield has been attacked by whiteflies.
I was unaware that whiteflies hung out in Southern Nevada.
I've never seen them in the more than 9 years of living here.
I saw them in Arizona.

They were YUCKY!
